  • Take soil sample to determine pH and nutrient levels.

February

  • 10 day service schedule.
  • Cut back liriope.
  • Prune Crape myrtles.
  • Prune roses.
  • Spray weeds in dormant warm-season grasses.
  • Apply a pre-emergent for grassy weeds in turf.
  • Apply a pre-emergent for weeds in all beds.
  • Fertilize all plants and trees.
  • Recommended time to replenish mulch and pine straw.

March

  • Weekly service begins.
  • Second application of pre-emergent to turf begins.

April

  • Hand pull and spray all weeds.
  • Prune suckers from trees.
  • Check inside plants regularly for invasive weeds.
  • Second application of pre-emergent to turf continued.
  • Apply horticulture oil to plant material to protect from insects and mites.
  • Start up irrigation.

May

  • Selective pruning of azaleas and camellias after blooms are spent.
  • Inspect/Treat plants for insect damage.
  • Prune all shrubs as needed.
  • Apply plant growth regulators.
  • Inspect/Treat turf for fungus.
  • Apply grub control.
  • Begin preventative treatments for June bugs and Japanese beetles.
  • Annual plantings for spring.

  • Increase irrigation times for summer.
  • Inspect/Treat turf for fungus and drought stress.

  • Apply post-emergent weed control in turf.
